Oklahoma Sooners Claim 2022 National Championship

The eight winners earn spots in the 2024 Womens College World Series in Oklahoma City.

The Oklahoma Sooners capped off a dominant 2022 season by winning the Women's College World Series (WCWS) title. The Sooners defeated the Texas Longhorns 2-1 in a thrilling championship game to claim their second WCWS title in three years.

Oklahoma finished the season with a 59-3 record, including a perfect 11-0 mark in the WCWS. The Sooners' only losses of the season came against Oklahoma State, Texas, and UCLA.

The WCWS is the culmination of the NCAA Division I softball season. The tournament features the top 16 teams in the country, and it is one of the most prestigious events in college sports.
